SBI PO Syllabus Download SBI Probationary Officer Exam Pattern 2018 – State Bank of India Paper Pattern Details : SBI is recently in news again not only that SBI Mutual Fund has launched SBI dual advantage fund from JAN1 to JAN 10,but also for the reason that it has announced the posts for 2313 Probationary Officers, SBI is one of the banks that has not come into the grip of recession though the world was grief stricken with the same, its because of the manipulating ability of the SBI, now it has come up with the huge recruitment opportunity to get the economy out of frying pan into a new horizon.

The basic criteria of applying for SBI PO Recruitment is following :

  • All the candidates must be graduates from a recognized university or must have equivalent qualifications which are recognized by the Central Government.
  • The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years but should not exceed 30 years.
  • The upper age limit in case of OBC candidates has been relaxed upto 3 years.
  • The upper age limit in case of SC, ST, Ex Servicemen (including short service commissioned, Emergency Commissioned officer etc.) has been relaxed upto five years.
  • The candidate must not be born before 2 January, 1983 and should not be born after than 1st January, 1992.

Understanding the exam pattern of the SBI PO is the key to achieve success in the entrance test. SBI PO entrance test is divided in Phase I and Phase II round.

The phase I round consists of written test while Phase II is conducted to the candidates who have been shortlisted after the written test and it consists of Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The written test is subdivided into objective paper and Descriptive papers. The objective paper will consist of four section including English language, General Awareness, Data Interpretation & Data Analysis and Logical Reasoning. The descriptive paper will only have questions related to English subject.

The candidate has to qualify both objective and Descriptive papers to get to the Phase II . The objective paper is conducted for 200 marks and the descriptive paper is conducted for 50 marks respectively. For ease of attempting the paper the objective paper will have a total allotted time of 2 hours whereas, the descriptive paper will be conducted for 1 hour duration to test the candidates knowledge and proficiency in English subject.

Phase II in SBI PO 2018 selection procedure consists of group discussion and personal interview. In this phase only the candidates who have been shortlisted from the written test will be called. The group discussion will carry 20 marks and personal interview will carry 30 marks. candidates are also required to qualify in this round as it counts for the final selection.


After the successful completion of Phase I and Phase II round of SBI PO Recruitment 2018 Selection Procedure, the final selection will take place and in this round the written test which is conducted for 250 marks will now be conducted for 75 marks and Phase II which was conducted for 50 marks earlier will be having 25 marks .The final list is prepared on the basis of aggregate marks and the total evaluation will be made out of 100 marks. The candidates scoring top marks in merit list will be selected.
